Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez in Competition at the 77th Festival de Cannes

For the last two years, Damien Jalet has been on a journey with revered French director Jacques Audiard, who called on him to choreograph his upcoming new feature, Emilia Pérez.

A musical crime comedy starring Karla Sofia Gascón, Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldaña and Edgar Ramirez, Emilia Pérez tells the story of a Mexican drug lord who goes through transition to become the woman he always dreamed of being.  

Emilia Pérez was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or and the Queer Palm at the 77th Festival de Cannes. The World Premiere was announced on May 18th, 2024 at the Palais des Festivals. Theatrical releases will follow, starting from France on August 28th.
